After European Multi-Stakeholder Forum on CSR

Vice-President Günter Verheugen, responsible for Enterprise & Industry, and Commissioner Vladimír Spidla (Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities) renewed their call on European businesses to visibly step up their commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR).

By organising this second review meeting of the European Multi-stakeholder Forum, the European Commission provided a platform for an open discussion between a range of actors - Members of the European Parliament, business and investor representatives, academics and civil society stakeholders – on how to promote an even stronger uptake of CSR among European businesses making Europe a global pole of excellence in CSR.

Gathered stakeholders presented their recommendations and points of view, while the EC prepared the summary of its actitivities.
All those materials together with the list of participants and agenda are available at EC website>>

This was the first plenary meeting of the Forum since December 2006.
