GreenGov Challenge - greening administration

The White House has launched a program, enabling federal and military personnel to submit  their own clean energy ideas.

From October 19th to October 31st 1.8 million federal and military employees can submit their own ideas for sustainable procedures and vote on others through the GreenGov Challenge website. Top ideas will be then presented to the Steering Committee on Federal Sustainability.

Only federal and military employees can participate in the program, but all ideas can be viewed by visitors to the website.
On October 5th, President Barack Obama has signed an Executive Order on Federal Sustainability, which sets a target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2020.

GreenGov Challenge is a way of showing that federal agencies are taking active part in meeting the set standards and building a clean energy economy.
